I have that too. DH and me, together, and it's $25 a month. Gotten many years ago.

Some Rabbonim hold it is a chiyuv for a man with children to have life insurance so that if chas v'shalom something should happen, they do not become tzedaka casess.
Whole life is very expensive. If you are young and in good health, you can lock in a 20 or 30 year term plan for not too much money. You need to find an agent you can trust.
