I went to a resturant in america and they had this unbelievable sushi, it was made out of cooked salmon and rice of course. it was out of this world. my only question is is they had this batter that they fried it in and that is what was so amazing about it. I was wondering anyone know of the recipe of the batter? I don't know what the sushi roll was called so I guess that even makes it harder to verify that sushi roll.

At the deli in Crown Heights they have what I think you are describing. It's called a golden roll and it's made with fried salmon, avocado and cucumber slices. There's this amazing sauce on it and I'd love the recipe as well! I can't get enough of it!!

no mompete- reffering to something else- this is the regular sushi roll where the rice on the outside is fried (like tampurah) and inside is fried salmon and cucumber- no avacado!

It is tempura batter. Also the same batter you would use to deep fry fish fillets. I think there is a recipe in spice and spirt. I KNOW there is one in the yellow food processor cook book from MTL, I use it all the time, and do it with my sushi too.

I used it but it didn't come out good at all. it was lacking a whole lot of salt and it was making me grossed out of the taste.

here is the recipe:
1 cup of flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1tbsp paprika
1/2 cup beer
2 tbsp oil
2 eggs
mix all together until smooth. get rid of lumps by squishing with a fork. dip your roll into batter and deep fry in oil. cool and slice. I also use this for fish fillets and bite size peices of chicken breasts.

Use rice crispies crushed to a fine meal.
Place on a platter
have one platter with flour
one platter with eggs
and one with the crumbs.
have sushi rolls ready
do as you would for shnitzel, but deep fry.
slice serve warm with folloeing sauce drizzledonto or for dipping
equal parts brownsugar and water a tbsp of soya sauce if you are using one cup boil for 6-10 mins. cool until thick, but not hard. reheat to soften.
