Honestly? I don't think about flats at all. They make no impression.

Could you do me a favor and explain yourself? I don't think I've ever been so surprised at a thread topic.

I'm with you, kikavu. Thinking exactly the same thing.

I definitely agree with fabulous--I'd probably ask her where she got them!

I'm so embarrassed but desperate. I stopped a stranger ( a frum woman) on the street yestersday to ask her where she got her flats. I am tall and constantly wear out my flats. Whenever I find a pair, I rejoice for a few days and on to search for the next one (or next season). I also get bored so I don't like to buy the same shoes a few times in a row.

on top of the fact that I cant wear heels because of my back. I also have narrow feet. I think I've bought 4 pairs of shoes from the same brand in the last three years from the shoes store on the corner of 13th & 49th (I think) maybe 48th. whatever. I am so beyond desperate that I've started with ballet flats with the elastic that I promised myself I'd never wear.

Do you, op mean the VERY flat shoes--like the ones that don't really have much of a sole--like they have no support at all? I LOVE those--because they make me feel like I'm barefoot and I LOVE being barefoot.
It depends when though--not when I'm doing serious walking pushing a stroller or anything. But for a nice slow paced evening stroll or wear to work--they're great!

Who was the amother who explained to me on another thread that "slutty" literally means "slovenly". Was it you, louche? Well, I admit it, I swear by the slovenly footwear! I have bad arches and the heels kill!

I believe the OP was being funny, spoofing the "High-heel" thread.

of course there will always be those people who will object on grounds of tznius (I'm not sure tznius is the correct standard to cite--chukas akum might be closer to the mark, but hey, it's about women, let's call it tznius) to any new style or indeed to anything that's currently "in style" in the secular world, new or not. Hunter green is the color du jour? Tref. Secular women are wearing French twists? Tres tref.
