very very sad but please remember it is a fable and completely fictional! The book actually says it is a fable, but that is not clear when you watch the movie.
definately very very thought provoking.

I read the book and then saw the film. Both were very well done, I was still shocked at the ending of the film even though I knew what was coming, thats how well they did it.
Not a fun night out but well worth seeing

Not completely.
There is much truth there.

I think there is enough in the story to make it worth taking seriously. Even if its not all "real" or "plausible" it makes people think.
I think the Aish article is about the book, and not the movie. I didn't read the book, but I can see that some of the things that the Aish article refers to may have been changed in the movie.
If nothing else, it may prompt people to go and find out more.

I read the book and thought it was incredibly powerful. Even if not incredibly real, amazing nonetheless. A non-Jewish coworker gave it to me and I figured, even if she is not getting the whole picture of the Holocaust, I'd rather she read this than read nothing.

Same here...when we left the theater, I saw many tears. Was very powerful.

hhey guys dont bash me for this because I am a SAHM and cannot afford nights out (my twins are too young and I hate leaving them with babysitters). But I watched it on a site where I get to watch all movies free www.watch-movies-links.net so for those of you that wouldnt be seen dead in a theatre or who would otherwise have problems going etc. etc. the quality is poor but I could watch the entire thing (and I stupidly watched it at 1am - not recommended for a before sleep movie)

I read and watched the movie, and thought the movie was very true to the book. very little was changed.
in general I am not comfortable with holocaust books not written by survivors. they can just get things too wrong.
