I called and got their recording with their hours.
I am assuming there is a charge for membership. Do you know what it is? Is it a family membership or individual?
What kind of limits do they have on the number of books?

There's a leasing library on 17th avenue and 43rd street, called 'The Library'. It is run by the woman who used to work in Frankel's Library on 16th avenue. There is a nice selection of books. Sorry I don't know too many details, I haven't been there in a long while.

You can check out brooklypubliclibrary.org
there is no charge for membership and you can get jewish books there.
You can books online and pick it up at the location you want.

I have a BPL card. We do take out books. Their Jewish book inventory is not very complete.

Someone recommended a specific book that I wanted to read and then consider to buy... That is why I am inquiring about a Jewish Book Library. While I am at it, I can stock up on some summer reading...

BTDT and I don't suggest to others. Being that I'm an adult that cannot control what I pick up to read, I naturally think that everyone else can't either. Of course, most adults are fine in the BPL, but one has to know herself. There is a lot of trash there.

1) Ahi Ezer: E. 7th between R & S

2) Beth Shaul UMiriam: Ave U and E. 22 (I think)

3) Kensington Jewish Library: 601 E. 3rd St.

I dont have the phone numbers for them anymore, but you should be able to google some info. IIRC, they all charge $18 membership per family per year, but each of them has a different limit on how many books you can take out.

Happy Reading! Wink

the brooklyn public library system gets a lot of jewish and feldheim books. request them online and when you go to the branch, don't go to the shelves (I never do); juust get your holds, check them out and go.

Would love update on Kensington Jewish Library or any other Jewish lending library in BP/Flatbush. Do these libraries have adult books also? Are they well stocked and have a big selection? How long can you take out books for? TIA Sick of the trashy books one can get at the local BPL......
