Does any SY imamothers have a recipe for Bazarghan (sp)?
I'm talking about the bulgur dip with tamarind ones. Don't know what else goes in aside from tamarind, and chopped onions. Do you cook bulgur first?

This is the recipe I make all the time:
2 cups burghol # 1 (smallest grain), rinsed
2 cans tomato paste
3/4 cup tamarhindi
1 tsp cumin
dash red pepper flakes
1 heaping tsp salt
1/3 cup oil
Just mix everything together and let it sit for a while. I like to substitute pomegranate syrup for the tamarhindi sometimes for a sweeter flavor. I don't usually make it with onions, but you definitely can. It comes out a little bit on the dry side, so just add some water or more tamarhindi if you like it a little more wet.
