this weeks cholent disaster
dh told me that the halchic ideal is to have your chulent fully cooked at the onset of shabbos. I wanted to be a good wife (and yid) so I turned the crockpot on high on friday after I made the cholent so it would cook fast and fully and I could turn it on low when it was cooked before shabbos. I totally forgot to turn it on low, and shabbos morning the chulent bag was melted and the foodwas black.

whoops.

not trying to hijack- just commiserating...

p.s. it has to be fully cooked or totally raw bein hashemoshos ...

anyways that does sound disastrous ... and inedible ...

as for me the cholent at night was a success ... that might be my new trend ...

sonny boy called dibs on the next secret recipe ...

Glad it worked out so well! You can write a cookbook: "Disaster to Delicious". I bet you could collect a lot of great stories.
