How does one clean toys: lego (small and big), wooden blocks, wooden train tracks...
Boy toys.
By the way, my kids playroom is in the basement, as a rule the toys don't come up and the food does not go down, however by kids don't always abide by the rules and occasionally food (chometz) has found it's way there.
Any useful tips would be greatly appreciated

Plastic stuff: toss in a tub of soapy water, let soak as long as you like, brush away any remaining residue with an old vegetable brush or nail brush, rinse well. Add a bit of bleach or ammonia if you like.
unpainted wooden blocks should not suffer from this treatment, either, though you should limit the soaking time and make sure to dry thoroughly before storing. Soaking painted blocks may cause the paint to peel.
alternatively you can put away the wooden toys with the chometz and use only soakable plastic toys on pesach.
