Hmmm I got carried away on my sortie to Carmelli, and got too many doughnuts.
Can I freeze jelly doughnuts in a ziplock bag? I assume custard won't freeeze but how about caramel (ok that one's from Grodz). Do I just defrost at room temperature? Do they need to be reheated?

yup, freeze them all. frozen custard is probably pretty good. Defrost at room temp or in microwave.

Thanks. obviously I meant to say freeze in my original post. Didn't know I could freeze custard one--I got milky one not parve one this year, hope texture/mouthfeel doesn't get ruined.

We've already frozen and defrosted some jam doughnuts, and they were fine. They went from frozen into a low oven.

Donuts are delicious when heated from frozen in the microwave. One minute max for a totally fresh, yummy donut

Thank you ladies. I've microwaved jam and caramel doughnuts on low power that came out beautifully. The best surprise was dairy custard ones--we just ate it while centre is still frozen which was like icecream.

I should be embarrassed to admit this but... we had a few hundred jelly donuts left over (don't ask). Cut the frozen donut open like a roll, warm in oven till toasty, spread with cream cheese. (PB works well too.)
