Our coffee table has two pieces of glass on the top (ie the majority of the top is wood) and one of them broke (and it was NOT the kids that did it! ). Are these pieces hard to replace? Anyone have any experience and can tell me the best place to get a replacement piece?

Call your local glass company, they'll come down , measure and will cut to size a new glass top. Don't know about the cost though. A piece of glass shouldn't cost too much

While you still have small children, I'd suggest getting plexiglas as a replacement.

Aren't you nervous that the kids will get hurt with it.

I have glass on top of my dining room table, so it doesn't get scratched. I used Bernie's Glass in Brooklyn (Albany Ave I think).
