My washing machine broke and I am looking to buy a new one.
I would really appreciate knowing what machines are good.
So whoever can, please write what machine you have and if it's good.
basically I was looking at whirlpool, ge, and speed queen.
Thank you!

Maytag Neptune. Great machine, front load, can do very large loads.

I just got a w/d so I'll tell you what I found out:

the brand of washing machine that needs repairs the least: whirlpool (except calypso is bad one)

dryers: maytag, fridgidaire & whirlpool are very reliable

the worst offenders: never get a maytag front loader

we also liked how it looks but according to repairpeople, consumers reports, and my aunt (who owns one) they tend to need repairs a lot more often than others.

I have a Whirlpool Duet front loader (both washer and dryer). It's amazing! It does very large loads. I can wash 2 twin quilts at one time. It was especially helpful after Sukkos and Pesach (and before, too, ...trying to get all the wash done before the Yom Tov! Also, since it is a front loader, it doesn't "eat" socks! It has a hand wash setting, too. I especially like the "delay wash" feature. I put a load in right before going to bed (with detergent), set the timer for an hour before I wake up, and the load is done as I'm getting out of bed! It's not cheap, but in the long run, worth every penny!

I have a whool pool. I love it . the store told us not to buy the maytag since the washer was plastic and not metal, and there fore would smell and can have problems with.

The new Maytag front loader doen't have a plastic liner. When Maytag fist came out with the front loader there were some problems, but that was years ago. The new models are great.

I like to ask the local apliance repairman what to buy. He says whirlpool washers are the best.
