My kids have just come home (3:30) and are eating cottage cheese with cucumbers. Usually, they pick yogurts. Sometimes I give a cookie after the healthy food.

I always have cut up fruit on the table when they come in. My older son comes home 5:30 so I prefer he eats supper.

When my kids get home around 4:15, they have a light snack...cheese slices, fruit, or they can finish their lunches. They like to have water bottles for a drink. Then they do homework and play outside. We have dinner between 5:30-6:00. After they are in pj's, I give them one or two cookies for dessert. (the cookies are an incentive for getting ready for bed nicely!) I try to get them in bed by 7 or 7:30.

I really try to have dinner ready for my children at 4:15 - 4:30. They come home hungry and being they go to sleep early this seems to work best. I'd rather they not go to bed on a full stomach.

My children come home usually around 4.20pm, so I have dinner waiting for them straight away.
