I read an article about how in some communities the second seder was in the local Jewish language (they mentioned Judeo-Arabic and Ladino), "so women and children would understand". Is it kosher? I love the idea!

The Haggadah is a relatively 'new' thing for the Pesach seder. AFAIK, there's no Halacha that says it must be read only in Hebrew.

The past few years, we go around the table and everyone reads from the Haggadah. In Hebrew or English. If we had people more comfortable reading in French or Russian or whatever, they're welcome to read in that language.

The mitzvah is to discuss and read about the Exodus. Not 'read in Hebrew'.

I remember learning to tell the story and explain in the language that the woman and children understand.
