My dentist says not to use toothpaste for a child under 3. It is really unhealthy if they swallow it and most children before 3 do not know how to rinse and spit. Just use plain water.

since my son had teeth I started brushing them. I use a drop of kid's paste (for under 6s = no fluoride, I think) an scrub his bottom n top teeth an then I give him the brush which he loves 2 chew an suck on and it gives me a minute or 2 in the morning to take care of my own washing n brushing.
he loves it but lately when he's had enough he finds interesting places to dispose of it (toilet, the bin, arrrgh!) which reminds me I need 2 buy a new one 4 him.
im not so good at the night time brushing yet.
