My honey has Epilepsy, It's pretty bad. Every medication we have tried so far, he has had a breakthrough seizure on. I think that the Keppra has stopped working. We are considering going to see a neurosurgeon at GWU hospital for surgery. I am so afraid because this is surgery on your most delicate part.

Jason (Yeeshai) ben Karen (Chaya) or Edward (Ephraim)

I'm new to this, so I am not sure if you use the mom's name or the dad's name.

Use his mother's name.
Good luck with the surgery.

I will keep him in mind. Please let us know if/when he is scheduled for surgery.

Mt nephew ( 3 1/2) was recently diagnosed with epilepsy... My brother and his family live in Silver Spring so they took him to Johns Hopkins.

Refuah and Hatzlacha to your husband!

May your husband have a Refuah Shleima.

If the surgery that he might have is a Hemispherectomy then try the following website - they have a support group for those that have gone through with it. I know of a couple of kids who have gone through with it and BH with therapy you wouldn't realize that some are missing half a brain. (but age definitely matters.)

http://hemifoundation.intuitwe......html

There is an organization in Monsey/Monroe called Someich Noflim they offer a support group for people suffering from epilepsy. The following is the phone number for the support group 845-641-3731. Although 2 Chasidishe woman take care of it they both communicate very well in English, and occasionally they have guest neurologists as speakers I assume it's in English.
