Buying a plata- Need Recommendations
I am recently married and need to purchase a plata. Can someone recommend a good brand?
We have been looking at Topheat Moledet,The Deluxe Warming Tray (from Eichlers) and Isra Heat. We want one that is going to be safe, last a while, and will heat food evenly.
Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

My sister has the Isra-heat and says that it gets too hot and burns her food.
Thanks for posting this... I have a really small hot plate and would eventually like to get a bigger one. I'm curious to hear what others have to say...

I recommend the kind that does not allow you to adjust the heat, as the dinim are much less strict for it.

I have the Isra-Heat and you do have to be very careful with it. In the middle of the plata, it will burn everything black if I don't put an extra pan down between it and the food. Even on the sides, I have to watch things or they can sometimes burn. Other than that, it's fine.

I don't know if ours is Isra Heat or not 'cuz there is no brand name, but we got it in Israel. It does get quite hot, but we usually put a metal blech sheet and it works perfectly fine. There is no heat adjustment unit. It's reliable, going strong on its 6th year now.
