This is such a great idea! Maybe we can turn it into a game/recipe exchange.

Go find the dirtiest page in your favorite cookbook and post the recipe here.

Here's mine:

Peanut Butter Pie (From Dining In, Pg. 285)

1/2 c. sugar
3 T. cornstarch
2 c. non-dairy creamer
1/2 c. peanut butter
2/3 c. choc. chips

1 graham cracker crust

1 c. dessert topping

Combine sugar and cornstarch over low flame. Add creamer, stir till smooth. Bring to boil. Stir in PB, then shut off flame. Remove 1 3/4 cups of mixture; combine immediately with choc. chips. Mix till choc. is melted. Spread in graham cracker pie crust and freeze.

Whip topping and fold with remaining mixture. Spoon over pie; refreeze.

Garnish with choc. shavings.

Keep them that way by wrapping the open cookbook in a clear plastic bag every time you bake. My mother told me to do it, but of course I knew better... Rolling Eyes and today the pages in my cookbook are practically stuck together. Very Happy

Classic meatballs from What's Cooking?

The meatballs always splash when I drop them into the sauce. Sad

Many times I check a recipe and then do my own thing. The dirty pages are cake and cookie recipes.

Google:
Umbra Prop Wood and Acrylic Cookbook Stand

I don't have one. My cookbooks are dirty! I like I better that way! LOL.

I have a cookbook stand, but I don't use it often enough.

I have too many dirty cookbook pages to list!

This thread is inspiring me to pull out the cookbook stand & actually use it. When I do remember to use it, I love it.

I actually never heard of a cook book stand!! Nice! Since my washer dryer, is in my kitchen, and my recipes are all in a binder, I take out the page, and stick it on machine with a magnet.
But my most used recipe is potato kugel.
Although I make it each week, I still need to have the recipe in front of me.

Mine are relatively clean but I remember when I opened my balebustes choice about 4 months after we got married and saw the potato and yerushalmi kugel page was all splashed...I called my mum and said "mummy my recipe book is being used!! its dirty!!"
I love seeing the pages crinkle a bit, they look used and it also means that im making good food Very Happy
