What do other working parents do??
Daycares have long hours, sometimes till 7PM, so its easy for a working mom. But what do you do when your kid starts school and dismissal is 4PM? I dont understand why the schools dont have an afterschool program to accomodate working parents.
What does everyone do?

I am not in bklyn, my son gets out of school at 3:30 but bH I have a local after school program. From what I understand from my f/t working friends in Bklyn, they spend an arm and a leg on babysitting for the last few hours of the day. Another option, depending on your child's age, your location, and your preferences is a public school/not jewish after school program. The non jews all do it without private babysitting.

I sent my kids to schools that had an afterschool program. I had to.

I pay a teacher to drop off my child at a babysitter's home. Between paying the driver and paying for babysitting it is expensive, but that's life.

Ask the school to start an afterschool childcare program. If five or six kids are enrolled, it would probably cover the cost of a babysitter.
