For those of you that have the teens and twenty somethings by Susie Fishbein, is it worth the investment? Thanks.

Thanks, key.
What do you recommend then? I usually love the KBD (except lightens up one).
I've heard Dining In is decent and also What's Cooking and Spice and Spirit.
I can't decide!!!

I find some of the KBD cook books to have ingredients that I don't normally use.

I love the spice and spirit cookbook. Tons of great recipes with everyday ingredients. It's pricey, though, over 40 dollars.

well I also like all the other kbd but this one really dissapointed me.
I really like dining in b/c has great recipes with "regular"(meaning you have them in the pantry) ingredients and its a bit more updated than spice and spirit.
but I do have to say that spice and spirit is the best classic!!

Spice and Spirit is a bit too pricey for me...
So you think Dining In I should get?

KBD Teens was a total waste. I didn't use a single recipe yet & I wonder if I ever will.

I love this one -- made the pretzel challah twice and got rave reviews from my shabbat guests (and family Smile )...though I agree that I mostly use the KBD's for ideas, and I love the pictures.

I call Spice and Spirit my dessert island cookbook. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of newer cookbooks, but it has so many fabulous recipes from heimish to interesting and it doesn't have tons of expensive ingredients you need to go to five stores to find. If I was buying one cookbook, this would be it. (The second would be Fresh from the Kitchen by Mindy Ribner. She's a bit long-winded, but nearly all her recipes are winners.)

I actually do like the new KBD- but then again, I am a 20-something myself, as is DH, and I found that it had lots of stuff he will actually eat. I did find myself doing a lot of tweaking though, because for something that is supposed to be youth friendly, it sure called for a lot of budget-busting ingredients. Also, I thought the 'munchies' section was kind of silly- nothing I couldn't have thought of myself.

To be fair, my mom got it for me for Chanukah, so I didn't spend any money on it.

I use the Internet for recipes. The ONLY cookbook I ever open is spice & spirit. I used KBD short on time for shavuos and was not impressed with 90% of it.

Both cookbooks were gifts btw

Dining In is a great cookbook. Really good recipes without exotic ingredients!
There is also the second one, Dining In Again, which I don't have but heard its great too.

I've made some recipes in there but I don't think it is so great.
I agree with some suggestions you have gotten (Dining In, Spice and Spirit) but you don't have the great pictures in there that a teen may enjoy.
