We'll be in Southern California next month and I need some help with ideas of where we could go for Two days. It would be from a Sunday morning until Monday night.... with not too much driving in the car. (maximum of 2-3 hours each way).

We did San Diego last Winter, but would do it again with a different itinerary.

I've never really planned a vacation before and could use some pointers of how to do it plus some ideas from those living out in Sun-Country Smile

We will have a 10 month old with us, so it would have to be appropriate with a baby.

Thank you as I'm clueless but hoping to pull this all together nicely with your help.

How far is it to Big Bear from LA?
Any suggestions of what you enjoyed doing there?

I would say Big Bear is nicer in the winter, but that is my experience.
Anyway, if you did San Diego already, you can always do it again.
You can go to Catalina, or Oxnard, which is a smaller beach town. Its really beautiful, and there are outlets, which is always fun!
We did a few days where we went to S. Diego and did Legoland, Wild Animal Park and San Diego Zoo.
What about LA? Yes, its more city like, but the beaches are close too, there is a lot of touristy stuff, tons of Kosher and the Santa Monica Pier and PCH are not far.
I am a California girl, born and raised, so you can PM me if you want. Have fun!

I'm also in S. Diego and to think of what you can do with a 10 month old baby.... Seaworld is fun and there is a place there for the baby to play, Captain Kidd's World or something its called (my baby is 14, so I don't remember).

Do you davka want to visit tourist attractions or just "hang out"?

You could PM me and I'll be happy to help you with whatever you may need down here in S. Diego if you're coming this way.

About Disneyland, Universal studios and so on... how do you manage with a baby? Is there a nursery in it, or do you leave the baby with a sitter at the hotel?

You take a stroller and you don't take the child on the rides. Or you hire a babysitter to go with you to hold the child while YOU go on the rides???

Big Bear is alot of fun - even in the summer! There are alot of water activities on the lake (Hence the name - Big Bear Lake). There is a cute little town to explore, great hiking, and the whole atmosphere is just so relaxing. I enjoy it more in the summer than I do in the winter
