My 6 month DS has a hoarse voice with no other symptoms (though he sneezes from time to time- nothing major). He often sweats when he nurses (probably hot) and we had the airconditioner on alot- probably not a good idea for a sweating baby. Any idea if I should use preventative measures (obviously I'm keeping him dry and no draft/aircon) so it doesn't become something big or does this mean he has something already? He fell off the bed erev shabbos but reacted well BH just mentioning it as a side note in case it could be related. Tnx

Can anyone shed light on this? Even simple practical advice will do... Thanks!

Could it be wheezing? That sounds like hoarse breathing. Check him out. He could also just be phlegmy.

I've heard of reflux causing a hoarse voice in adults - I don't know if that applies to infants too.
Do you have any suspicion of reflux? Maybe your pediatrician would consider a trial on reflux medicine.

IMO, another symptom of a bad cold, just like in adults.

My 2 month old is going through this now. Not congested or runny nose, just a hoarse cry. Pediatrician wasn't helpful just told me to watch him. Any ideas why this happened?
