How does one get out sweat stains on white/light colored shirts? I used to think it was due to the deodorant but maybe not. I don't really know. The stains end up being a dark gray over a matter of months and of course, the shirt is just not wearable when that happens.
Is it even possible to get out sweat stains or whatever it is that is causing the stains? Or prevent the stains?

Try wearing garment shields. Use Oxy Spray for the existing stains.

Grey stains are from the aluminum in deodorant and afaik can't be removed by any home methods. Try applying deodorant at night and showering in the morning before dressing. You can use baking soda as backup protection if you're not sure your deodorant can survive a shower.

white vinegar is good too. but if the shirts have been through the dryer, they're only good to wear under sometnhing.

Try these to protect your light colored shirts. I don't know about removing stains. Sorry.
