that's very cute...Problem is, I am afraid that this family wouldn't use it though, they are quite 'modern' IYKWIM. I could see it sitting in the bathroom for years...
but I would love to get one for my DD when she gets old enough

I would send a donation in the child's name to Chai Lifeline, or some organization that helps needy children, and ask them to send a certificate to the family.
The 3-year old will quickly forget who gave him what, and will eventually lose or break most of his gifts. Hopefully, the parents will appreciate that you used this occasion to help the children who really need it.
