Ideas for birthday party please!!!

I urgently need ideas for games to play at my 9 year old sons' birthday party , that need little or no preparation. I am back in work and my older kids are away, so it's down to me. There are only 8 kids coming but I can't think of things that are age appropriate, to do on the spot. Any ideas out there?

this is a toughy...I am so much better at girls...any boyish arts and crafts? go to a michaels....airplanes, cars etc.

as for games: any type of organized sport I think is fine!
