I used to work 7P-7A, but since a bit over a year ago I only do it on occassion. I'm a 5 year night shift veteran if you have any questions though.

How do you take care of your child(ren)? That must be exhausting!

When I did it, I worked 2 - 3 nights a week and my dh was home with them while I worked. I had a babysitter for while I slept, but yes, it was exhausting. People who work every night actually fare better than those who only do it a few times a week b/c their body keeps some sort of consistant internal rhythm.

my baby goes to the baby sitter like regular during the day so I sleep then and wake up and pick him up and the advantage is I get dinner/eve with dh. which brings me to my real question. embarrassed with seeing dh only 1 1/2-2 hrs a night with no flexibility since I need to leave for work at 8:30 (when I worked daytime hrs I always had the option to go to sleep later at night), is there anyway to make time for relations during the weekday? bec we need to eat dinner and put baby to sleep. and even if I put him to sleep before dh came home, that wouldn't leave a lot of time.

(I needed to post this under working moms bec I can't afford to get bashed for working these hrs.).

I'm no help - like I said, I only worked 2 - 3 nights a week! Sorry.

do you think I'm worrying for nothing?
and how did you manage doing it only 2-3 times a week?! I do every night so I'm adjusted to the schedule.

The only thing I can think of is eat dinner with your child. Put him to sleep. Instead of dinner, do it. And then your dh will eat himself after you leave.
