The old-timers on Imamother may remember that years ago we had a tishrei guide put together by a fellow member, fulloflove, that we hosted on Imamother, and everyone could download and print. This year, I decided to revamp the guide. I put in the correct dates, and halachos for the 3 day yom tov we have this year. I redid much of the formatting, making it clear and easy to use. I hope that you will use it and appreciate having the to do list, and many of the minhagim, listed in one place for you to refer back to during yom tov. Please print it, and fill it in with info like candle lighting times, things to buy, and meal plans.

NEW: We also have an Israeli version now.

View Online:
PDF version: http://www.imamother.com/Tishr.....1.pdf
Israeli PDF version: http://www.imamother.com/Tishr.....n.pdf

To Download:
Microsoft Word: http://www.imamother.com/Tishr.....1.doc
Israeli Microsoft Word: http://www.imamother.com/Tishr.....n.doc

I have updated the guide again, and added some new pages at the end.
Please let me know if I made any mistakes so I can correct it.
I hope you enjoy!

Great! This will really help! Thanks

Is it okay to pass on to friends/family who may not be imamother members?

I have updated the guide again, and added an Israeli version with Hila's help. Thank you hila!

You can distribute as you wish. My goal is to make Yom Tov planning easier for all women.

Yael, what a great idea - thank you.

I hope it is okay to add constructive criticism. You also wrote that it goes according to Chabad minhagim, so maybe I am just adding things that are different for others. If you are not Chabad, please check:

Elul
Quote:
Hear Shofar daily
not a minhag for women

Quote:
Buy new garment for yourself for Rosh Hashana
you can use a new fruit instead - put it next to the candles when you light for the second night and eat straight after kiddush

Rosh Hashana

Quote:
להדליק נר של יום הזכרון
this is incorrect according to the Ashkenazi minhag and it is a common mistake - we make להדליק נר של יום טוב like other YTs.

There are more simanim for RH night mentioned in the SA (eg leeks, carrots, beets/ silka etc) - everyone should check what their own minhag is.

Tashlich is on the first day - this note might be left from a year when the first day was Shabbos when it gets moved to the second day.

thank you, what a great checklist!

I know a friend who has a checklist of things to pack when they go away for Shabbat; including things to do in their house before they leave.

For example, put lights on timer, lock windows, water plants before leaving

Maybe we could add something like this? (although personally we NEVER go away!)

Thanks again. Shana Tova
