I teach lit in a BY high school and just found out that I will be teaching on Chanukah (when I thought I wasn't).
I would love to offer an article or poem (Jewish or not) on the theme of miracles (nisim), or appreciation (nissim in teva), or internal values (fighting misyavnim).
Do you have any inspirational pieces that I could present and we could discuss?

Im not sure if this fits your criteria, but Etka gittel Reich serialised a story in the Bina magazine a couple of years ago, and it has been published. its about 7 chapters. It takes place in Israel while the Greeks are there. Im sorry I cant remember the exact name but it was something like, "In Our Days"
Its really well researched, and extremely well written. It really brings the chanuka story down to its personal level.
good luck
