There is a thread about recognizing early signs of autism and I was wondering if a parent thinks something is wrong, is it usually because something IS wrong, or not. Part of me thinks a parent normally knows and the other half says no....

I know for myself, I thought my son was hyperactive as a toddler and was quietly concerned, and now I can see he is a very settled 3 year old.

Are we as mothers more than often right, or do a lot of us worry too much?

I am not interested in prying into peoples business.... no one has to comment but was more interested in the poll to see if a lot of us worry excessivley? I am not suggesting by the poll that anyone does or doesnt get their child evaluated.

Depends what you call "issues", and how you define "then" and "now". Obviously, if someone knows her child has a problem, something raised concern at some point, otherwise she would still be unconcerned. Do you mean "then" as up to a certain age?
