PREGNANCY and Pilates???

I am doing a Pilates Excercise Program. I just got a Positive Result on my Pregnancy Test. Anybody know if I can continue doing my pilates? Right now I'm doing Pilates for the Abs and for the Buns and thighs.

1. B'sha'ah tovah umutzlachas!

2. Ask your doctor about exercise during pregnancy.

3. There are prenatal pilates, yoga, etc.

I was once told by an o.b that if you are in shape and have been doing ab exercises regularly, then it would be safe tocontinue but just lower a notch and take it easy.

but of cource every body is different and some have more risk factors than others.

off topic a bit, does pilates work? I mean what does it do, it tones and keeps you flexible?

I did Pos. Pregn. Fitness during both pregnancies. I've seen women do step aerobics but I think that's a bit much.....

sarag - I got certified to teach step when I was 5 months pregnant. It's fine to do it if you remain in shape throughout pregnancy. Same goes for pilates, although you will need to start modifying once you get bigger iy'h.
