I am EBFing an infant, who seems to be in pain after I eat certain things. I have cut out beans, broccoli, and barley. that helped. now I think I have to cut out dairy- and I live on it!! I don't know what I am going to do! are lentils gassy? I dont like to eat meat, and chicken is a bit expensive to eat two meals a day. I think I am supposed to limit my fish intake because mercury, and its also expensive.

what are (preferably quick) and not very expensive protein sources?

ideas, anyone?

thanks so much!!

thanks all! I am consolidating yourr helpful responses here-

- eggs (frittata, omelettes, french toast, pancakes)
- oatmeal
- sole, tilapia (low mercury and not too expensive )
- nuts
- soy

grin: really?? that would be great! maybe I will start wit cutting out just milk. does that mean I shouldnt cook/bake with it also?
pineapple: are those for protein?

I can't eat beans, b/c of baby's gas, dh and I can't stomach quinoa for somereason, and were not sushi people, and I've never used tofu besides silken for desserts. maybe its tie to start!

thanks and keep em comin (please)!

When I was EBF DS, I couldn't have eggs, soy, salmon/whitefish or any dairy.
My only parve protein was tuna.

you can also add soy flour and/or chia seeds to muffins and the like to supplement protein.
