Our musical family minhag is to make havdala, and then to sing several songs, including "Eliyahu Hanavi". DS plays the piano to accompany (his rebbe said that it's like a melava malka and he can do it even during sefira), and the younger kids dance, and DH and I sing harmony.

My Dh usually says Pesukei Eliyahu Hanavi (all the Pesukim in tanach that say eliyahu-I think) but does not sing the song.

We do it, but only because my father did it when I was growing up. I think it's a nice way to end shabbos, and begin a new week.

We did it growing up and sometimes my family does it Smile

Where does the minhag come from that some don't?

It's part of zmiros L'motzai Shabbos. Some people sing zemiros and some don't.
