dh is on a low sodium diet, which means our food has been pretty boring lately.
I'm looking for a way to make some very nice foods for shavuos (we will not be having any dairy meals) that fits into a low sodium diet.
This means, no added soy sauce, mustard, ketchup (basically any pre-made sauces and dressings are out), pastry dough's, processed meats and pre-made ingredients can not be used. A lot of foods taste very bland with out added salt, so I prefer not to make those. we have tried Mrs dash, but its not the same.
we live oot and there are very few low sodium kosher food items that I am able to buy.
I can get sodium free tomato sauce from trader joes...
any ideas to help me make a nice shavuos menu would be great!!
TIA

I don't have soup ideas.
you can make you're own ketchup or barbecue sauce with no sodium tomato paste for your main dish. can you get that? I believe gefen makes a paste that has no added ingredients at all.

squash in tomato sauce
olive oil
onion, diced
tomato sauce
sugar
onion powder
garlic powder
black pepper
zucchini, peeled in stripes and then sliced into rounds
Saute onion in oil. Add tomato sauce. Season with sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste. Simmer about 10 minutes to heighten flavors.
Add zucchini rounds and cook until pierceable, about 15 minutes.
caesar cheese salad
(can you get low sodium mayo? I can post a homemade recipe if you need one)
homemade croutons with leftover challah or bread are great. just spray, and season with garlic and blk pepper
