Do you go to the doctor that day, or wait a day to see if the situation resolves itself?

sick as in...........?

temperature or throwing up non stop etc......?

You could always call in symptoms to your doctor and ask whether you should be coming in.

Our dr always said to come in at the height of the symptoms. I wouldn't run that first day, no.

Depends...if it's your first , or second and subsequent ones LOL

Seriously, with my first, I ran to the doc at the first sign of a sniffle.

With my second I went if there was temperature.

With my third, if there's temperature, I wait about 24 hours and see what happens, If there's still fever after 24 hours , I check it out.

I do not run to the doctor right away at all I unless symptoms are showing something that I know needs meds. Usually they end up being viruses half the time. I usually wait atleast 24 hours.

I would say wait at least till the next day if it doesn't look too serious, these things often sort themselevs out without having to do more than giving some tylenol for a day or 2...children catch viruses so often
I sometimes find that, as a paed, it is quite hard to be objective when dealing with my own kid when he isn't well...but BH in almost 3 years I have only been to the doctor once with him when he has been ill. He was 3 months old at the time and I actually waited for 3 days before I got him checked out in hospital - by that stage I thought - enough, I need an objective opinion.
I know most ppl would have gone far sooner than I did.
