do we have to pay maaser on the benifits we get or just what we earn?

IIRC you do have to give maaser on benefits, as it is considered money that you have 'earned', just in a different way to regular salaries. But please check with your rav to be certain.

I am just curious, did anyone hear the if your husband is learning then you don't have to give maaser, or you can give it to a sibling if they need it and are learning?

When we lived in England we got child benefit and my husband gave maaser from it. AFAIK it is a form of income.[/b]
