Bought mine at the Jewel Osco on Howard -- it was in the regular fruit section. But I bought it last week... don't know if they're still in stock.

Just ran out to the Jewel Osco for some last-minute things... they've still got pomegranates. 
They're $1.99 apiece, IIRC.
They've also got star fruit and papaya if you need a shehecheyanu fruit.

Last year we also had a wild goose chase to find one.
This year I bought at Lincolnwood Produce. And I saw at Jewel as well.
