I never spend real money on makeup - usually get from CVS. I want to buy good quality makeup this one time. Where do you recommend I go? I live in the Five Towns. My budget is $150 - $200. Do you recommend any of the counters in Macy's (I have store credit there...)?

Can you get to a Sephora?
They have every brand so you're not limited to the one company that the salesperson at Macy is trying to sell.
I also used to wear odds and ends, until I went to Sephora. I spent $300. I got EVERYTHING brand new, including brushes.It's almost 3 years later and I only need to start replacing things now... All my stuff is Laura Mercier which is very pricey-so you definitely can spend much less.
They have an awesome return policy. If you're not happy for any reason, you can just return it even if it's open, and you get your money back.

you can get laura mercier at kiss and makeup on central ave in cedarhurst.
they're pretty good with helping you find colors that suit you there. probably not the cheapest place but I think you can get what you need for your budget. I wouldnt buy their brushes (expensive) or their mascara (I'm happy with maybelline) and when you go in remind yourself not to fall for their sales pitch. you certainly wont need everything they will want to sell you. (they tried to convince me I needed two shades of concealer and a separate eyelid base)
I bought makeup there a few years ago and have just replaced the loose powder and lipgloss.
