I saw a recipe but didn't buy the cookbook.

I could only remember the following:

Mix four eggs, a can of toamto sauce, a package of ricotta cheese, and a package of boiled spaghetti noodles together. Bake until brown.

Anyone have anything they think would be good to add? Pepper and Italian seasonings, maybe?

Sounds like lasagna with spaghetti instead of lasagna noodles.

Baked Spaghetti Pie

1 16 oz box spaghetti
2/3 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 26 oz jar marinara sauce
4 oz shredded mozzarella
1/4 cup bread crumbs

preheat oven to 350
spray a 9 inch sprinform pan with nonstick cooking spray, set aside
cook pasta in large pot of boiling heavily salted water until al dente, drain
transfer the spaghetti back into the pot
mix in the parmesan, ricotta, eggs, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and marinara sauce.
layer half the spahetti into the prepared pan
sprinkle with mozzarella
top with remaining spaghetti
toss the bread crumbs over the top
bake covered for 30 minutes
release the spring on the pan
slice and serve

enjoy!

but next time buy the cookbook, not sure how legal this is...

I made the spaghetti pie for dinner last night and it was very good! I don't have a springform pan, so I just made it in a regular pyrex pan.

I also used cottage cheese instead of ricotta and put mushrooms into the mozarella layer.

This sounds really good. Guess what we're having for supper tonight. I bet my 2 little ones won't eat it though. Well, it's mac 'n cheese for them then!

It basically tastes like mac n' cheese - might as well just make mac n' cheese for everybody!

My kids complained also - said "it's just noodles and cheese with sauce" and why can't they just eat it plain....so I'm not going to bother making that again.

It's definitely good, but tastes almost like every other mac n cheese type dish I've ever made. I usually make m&c with mozzarella, sour cream, tomato sauce and cottage cheese. Easier, and tastes nearly the same as the spaghetti pie.

I tried one from tasteofhome.com. go to the recipe finder and type in spaghetti pie. I used Yves ground round for the minced meat. It was OK, I will not make it again. My friends from Ottawa LOVED it.
