I use blue pots and pans for milichig

and Red pots and pans for meat

I printed out MILK/LECHE and MEAT/CARNE (I live on the border!) and than I colored them blue and red.

In america I htink most use blue for milchigs, but one friend swore up and down that blue is meaty!

I guess I'm odd in that none of my stuff is labeled, and all the pots/pans share the same cupboard, but the cookware looks different and te closest DH comes to the kitchen is eating the end product. LOL

My milchigs pots and pans are gray and my fleishigs are black. But my knives are the typical blue for dairy, red for meat, and green for pareve.

There are some Lubavitch families that use red for milchig b/c that is what the Rebbetzin did! I always found it very confusing.

My pareve is mostly black/white/grey (except for the 3 baking silicones I have that are red...but all my baking stuff is pareve and no one else ever bakes anyway). Milchig is blue, or jewel tones (ruby, sapphire, emerald, amethyst). Meaty is white with beige (dishes) and orange-y red containers.

My drawers are labelled (on the inside) with those red/green/blue stickers, but that's more for making the babysitter's life easy.

Blue and white, in my kitchen, stands for Milchigs and red and black for Fleishigs!

I love the meat and dairy stickers, I use them everywhere, even on my counters and drawers.

It's a great help when the cleaning lady is there, everything is color coded!!

I made my kitchen blue and white and because I remember white to be milk, the blue ended up being fleishik. a neighbor told me "Its people like you who are ruining it for everyone else" I'm pretty sure she was kidding Confused

I won't even buy a utensil unless I can find one in both blue and white
peelers, can openers, spatulas, egg slicers, wire whips (the handles), salt and pepper shakers-

no labels but everything is very clear

I do the same thing for pesach only in purple and yellow-b"H for dollar stores, walmart and target

Hey mumoo, I'd love to see your kitchen on Pesach, must be so colorful and entertaining!

in my home now things are labled but only because I have non frum in laws and I dont want them to get confused whenever they come for a visit. but for myself and hubby, we know where everything is, so we really do not need the labeling. I did not grow up with the labeling either. we knew where everything went and that was that.

some ppl also color code their sponges for washing the dishes. I just make my dairy and pareve sponges different colors. the basari is in another sink all together so there is no problem with that.

I always have 3 rolls of that electrical tape on hand: Blue - for Dairy, Red - for Meat, and Yellow - for Parve. and use those for all my pots and pans, and also for knives.

For washing dishes - Silver - for Dairy, Gold - for Meat.

I also have a sheet of stickers - the clear kind, with:
חלבי, בשרי, פרווה
on them. I use those on plastic containers.
