My husband likes Jordan for an English boys name. I have never heard this as a Jewish boys name. I only know girls named Yarden (mostly in Israel), and non jewish boys named Jordan. What do you think about this name?

I'm 50 and knew a boy slightly younger than me, in the U.S, named Jordan. It's not commonly used in Israel as a boys name from what I can tell with my 40 years of Israeli experience.
To me, Jordan is masculine and Yarden is feminine. I don't know why.

I know Jewish Americans named Jordan in different age groups. Not common, but definitely recognized as a name. Jordana would be the female equivalent.

I know a Jordan who is around twenty. He was raised pretty much a secular Jew, maybe leaning toward traditional, and is now becoming more interested in Judaism

DH's legal name is Jordan and I know a few other men/boys with that name. Generally Jordan is masculine and Jordyn is feminine. I know a few of each.

Jordan is actually an old name, brought back by the crusaders (yeah, I know). Jourdain, female form Jourdaine.
I know many Jewish Jordan, including frum ones. Yarden at bris. I know some Jordana (Yardena at naming).
