Just wondering... if you saw someone wearing this would you assume the baby is a girl? I want something gender neutral, but I love purple!

I think the purple is dark enough to look unisex. Especially on a wrap.
If you're really worried, you can sew some navy buttons onto the front to make it look more boyish!

I would wear it with a boy baby! My favorite color is purple, too, and I would have no problem buying purple stuff for either a boy or girl.

Very interesting thought to ponder: Is a wrap a garment of the mommy or of the baby?

Makes me think of: do you wear boy maternity tops if you're expecting a boy?!

It is your accessory, you are wearing it. The baby just gets to ride in it.
I wore my boys in wraps and slings that I love. They are fine now and no one ever doubted they were boys because of the color of my wraps, my clothes, or my tichels.
I have a strawberry stripes BBslen sring sling.
An ellaroo maija wrap.
I had a storch INKA!
I used a wrapsody (bali baby breeze) iris.
But now my storch is a boring Leo.
The pattern on my baby hawk has pink in it.

So maybe I'm not a good one to say that no, that wrap is definitely not too girly.
I also put my baby boys in purple cloth diapers and wool covers though. :LOL

It's definitely not a girly purple. Not that I have anything against girly patterns on carriers, but I don't think I'd even think if a boy was wearing that color sweater it was a girl.

And like busydev said, I have a son who was wearing all blue and was mistaken for being a girl. He had short hair (we don't keep upsherin, and he was only 1)...go figure Tongue Out

Reminds me when I wore a pink ruffled nightgown after my son's birth and so many visitors asked, why aren't you wearing light blue? Very Happy

I think the color is really savvy.

Go for it - you can use it for boys or girls. (Granted, you can use any color wrap for a boy or a girl, but if there were a boy inside I'd feel more uncomfortable wearing a bright pink, or an objectively feminine floral pattern.)

No way like others said you're the one wearing it. Maybe I wouldn't do light lavender or pink but this purple is dark enough that I'd totally wear for a boy baby. In fact I'd love to know which wrap that is, can you post a link?

I thought you were going to ask if it was too girly to expect your husband to wear it!

I'm with those who say the color of the wrap doesn't have to match the baby.....

I dressed my dd in blue all the time. It might have been a girly outfit, but it was blue. I loved dressing her in blue jeans.

I wouldn't use a very girly wrap for a boy, but this looks fine.
