is it okay if I make it today and make only half? an dleave the batter in the fridge for tomorrow??

I used to work in a bakery and we kept all of our batters in the fridge for at least a week. the head baker always said "this stuff will last for months". we didn't do pancakes but we did muffins, cakes, cookies, etc. and it was all fine.
if it was me I would leave it in the fridge overnight. you might want to bring it to room temperature a bit before you start frying it up but then again it might not even make such a big difference.

My mother leaves batter in the fridge overnight, no problem.
(although interesting to hear what the baker mother had to say)

My pancake recipe actually recommends to leave it overnight in the fridge before using.
