red oil ... sounds easy ... take some olive oil - mix with red stuff ... paprika, hot cayenne pepper, saffron, etc.

In glass jar, put paprikas and oil. Mix well and let sit until the paprika particles settle and the oil above them is red. This amount is enough for several uses. Store in spice cabinet, it doesn't spoil. Using red oil gives an aesthetic look to food and enhances flavor.
A friend of mine who married a Morrocan uses it in cholent.
