First, I think of the lake.
Then, I think of the frozen challah brand at the grocery store.
Then, I think of a harp (like "kinor"?).
I personally don't like it, but I'm not so into modern-Israeli names. I do prefer the classic.
Is it for a boy or girl?

I think it's a classic, among the modern names.
I like the lake, and the meaning. "ani kinor"

I think it's a very pretty name in the right circles.
It wouldn't fly in American right-wing circles. But I do think it's a pretty name.

Ummm, Kinneret is not considered a modern name by a long shot. It definitely falls into classic/vintage Israeli names. People have been giving girls that name for at least 40-50 years.
It's a girls' name, for the poster who asked.
I love the sound of it, but it is considered old-fashioned in Israel. However, it still feels fresh to me, it's not one of those 'granny' old fashioned names.

I think it is unusual but beautiful. It has a kind of elegance and peacefulness to it. Re the meaning, I think the meaning is "lake". Lake Kinneret.

Not a typical name in my 'hood. However, it sounds beautiful. Very feminine.

Now you got me singing the song "Shiri Li Kinneret, Shir Mizmor Yashan, Shiri Li Kinneret, Shir Li HaGolan...
Don't know if you know it but I always loved that song - I even made my sister from Teveriya walk down the aisle to that song at my wedding. Once I was at the Kinneret and there were kids hanging out and playing that song. It was so picture perfect with music too

No - it doesn't mean lake - Lake Kinneret is shaped like a harp (kinor) - that's why it's called the Kinneret
Found the Song !

It's an absolutely beautiful name, I think of the beautiful Yam Kinneret. It's definitely not your more usual Rochel or Surele, My girls are Avigayil and Shifra, both unusual names too. For what it's worth, I say Yes!
