All my latkes fell to pieces. This has never happened to me before. I have been making latkes for 10+ years. I feel so disappointed. Who wants to eat oily crumbs?

Yummy!! When I said to myself, no more eating latkes, I started picking on the small crunchy pieces that broke off. Smile

Thank you ladies! You made me smile. I stuck the rest of the batter in round pans and baked "latkes". Those tasted pretty good Very Happy .

And I bought a new frying pan. I think the problem is now that I have a dishwasher it ruined the non-stick on my pan. I will find out if I am right when I make my next batch Very Happy

Next time, try making them in a well oiled waffle maker. Genius! I'm never pan frying latkes again.

Those crunchy bits are the best part! I scoop them out, drain them on paper towels and then eat them all night long! Sometimes I think I'd rather eat that stuff then the whole latke!
