They are all basically committing to a life of single motherhood.
In any case, I'm not sure I want anyone judging my religious decisions so I won't judge theirs. It is fascinating to read about, though.

WOW. I was riveted and watched it in one sitting.
While it's not a lifestyle any of us would choose, I was impressed how aidel, tznius, and sweet these women and their children are. It was really interesting to watch.

Didn't watch the whole thing but I find this so disturbing in a lot of areas.
One thing I noticed was the father/husband being called " a guest" to me that says an awful lot....

I'm not going into the issue of polygamy. This man being taken to court got me thinking the Torah approach of such a case.
According to Jewish law (before Cherem d'Rabbenu Gershon Me'or Hagolah) if a Jewish man is able to provide for all his wives what he is obligated to offer her, it's ok to marry as many wives he wants. This is 100% kosher and 100% legal halachically. On the other hand, if a Jew lives unmarried with any amount of girls, even with 1, whether he has children with her or not, it's a very severe sin and something the Jewish court would have to deal with.
In today's law of the 21st century, it's oilom hofuch ro'isi. If this man divorces his 24 (from 25) wives and lives with them liberally, he would be free from any sentence. This is similar to the laws in many countries (including Israel) that one may not marry before a certain age but may live unmarried with any age teenagers even before the minimum age required. This is the corrupt world we live in today, nebech.

wow I just finished watching both videos and some that popped up underneath... so disturbing ...and the.confusion regarding how.many wives is because in the second video it say a how when they split from the main place some wives left, as well as "some wives left because they chose to... loneliness probably was a factor..."
