Any ideas for a poem I can put with my mishloach manos - painter theme. I do not yet know what I am putting in, so any ideas in that direction would also be helpful...TIA

Why do you feel obligated to write a poem?

I don't do poems. And if you don't either, it should be perfectly fine to write in a large cutesy font, Happy Purim from the ___(your name)__ family painters!"
For MM, you can fill a paint bucket with food and add a cheap paintbrush. I don't know where you live, but I saw paint buckets in Amazing Savings.

At the height of the Purim story,
B"Y's spirits were quite faint
But Hashem saved us and with great simcha
Our lives are filled with colors of paint
Sorry, not great but no time to think further or tweak.

Have a Happy Purim
Don't drink until you faint
For if you sin and overdo it
Tomorrow you'll "repaint"!

I assume you haven't seen the thread that states the calibre of a prospective mother-in-law's MM poem is now part of the shidduch process...

No one said "obligated", it just adds a nice touch.
Why the negativity? If your not in to poems ignore the thread.
