op,
you can do cows and cookies and milk
my sister dressed her kids up as firemen and gave fire hats with bottled water, hot chips, hot tamales, hot sauce, etc.
my sis n law did yankees and gave basebball caps with hot dog, soda, peanuts, cracker jack.
oh and my parents neighbor dressed the kids as cows and did a black and white theme, black and white cookies. popcorn, black licorice etc.
hope I helped!

Here is my idea (with help from my sister)
Arizona Iced Tea, California raisins, Florida Naturals candy, Cape Cod Chips, Boston Baked beans.
Still looking for more American named foods. Any ideas?
I'm putting a note on it "This year in America, next year in Jerusalem!"

My two girls will be kallahs (OF COURSE) and I want to give out a little "chosson" and need help with that.
we came up with this idea but need help putting it together.
A small bottle of wine or grape juice.
I'm trying to figure out how to wrap a little black coat around that (to make it look like a chassidishe bekesha). I don't know how to sew!
Wrap black string around that for the gartel look.
I want to glue onto that a mini oh nuts sectional platter that will have black and white things inside. and wrap fake black fur around that to make it look like a shtreimel.
Now how do I come up with that thing to wrap around the wine?
TIA!

oh wow slimnglam, that sounds really cute but a little hard - you must be real creative! My kids are being chosson (1 1/2) and kallah, (2 1/2) and I couldn't think of anything to give out so I settled on black and white shalach manos. It's a black and white checked container and I have to think of some black and white foods to go inside.
Any ideas anyone?

That police man idea with giving donuts and coffee is SUCH a cute idea! I'm going to keep that in mind for next year.
This year my boys are dressing up as mechanics - they have dress up clothes that my mother sewed for them with a badge with their name on it and everything - so instead of buying new costumes, we're going to use those. Then they have toolbelts also.
So I'm trying to think of shaloch manos to go along with that. I'm thinking of trying to find a small cardboard toolbox or a small cardboard car to put the food in, but I can't think of what foods to put in, and I also can't think of a cute message to write - I was thinking something like "Fixin' to have a great Purim" but I think it sounds a little weird! Any ideas?
