When you visit this site you can enter your address and a map will pop up with your house as a small icon of a house. There will be red, blue and green dots surrounding your entire neighborhood. When you click on these dots a picture of a criminal will appear with his or her home address and the description of the crime he or she has committed.

The best thing is that you can show your children these pictures and see how close these people live to your home or school.

This site was developed by John Walsh from Americas Most Wanted.

This is another tool we can use to help us keep our kids safe.

Please pass this on to everyone!!!

There's been a lot of talk about this in the UK lately, with some pretty high profile cases like the Soham murders. Also there has been investigation work by the BBC into how high risk prisioners on their release are kept in hostals apparently under supervision, but these prisioners are allowed to do what they like and often they are near schools and nurseries these hostels.
The point is that here there is nothing like this. Literally on relese these people can disappear into thin air, yes they are meat to register with the local police and parole offices but sometimes they do n ot. There can be s-x offenders living right next door to a person with kids and the neibours will never know. As I say there has been plenty of discussion about setting up something like this kind of database but the governments argument is that it will cause vigulanties, and innocent people that look the same as this person might be hurt.
