Hi,
Just wondering if anyone could share some links to some appropriate Holocaust movies to watch on Tisha B'av night. I'm at home with little kids, so I can't get out to Eicha, and I find it hard just watching online shiurim to really feel the pain like I do from watching a movie portrayal of something (that sounds terrible doesn't it). I would ideally like more 'frum' movies (I.e. not love story woven throughout a holocaust story).
Thanks & an easy fast to everyone out there!

Not a Holocaust movie, but I just watched this one and cried my eyes out. http://vimeo.com/46423843
"On this day, 7 years ago, August 15-22, 2005, the State of Israel underwent an internally polarizing and extraordinary dramatic event which would become known as the disengagement from the Gaza Strip. The film 'Withdrawal From Gaza' offers a personal behind-the-scenes look, both before and during the evacuation, at the people whose lives would forever be impacted by the events which unfolded during those difficult weeks. With the ramifications of the disengagement from Gaza still very evident today, this emotional documentary film takes you back to experience the event from the perspective of both the settler and the soldier.
Please note: Statistics at the end of the film are from 2007 when the film was completed."

Steven Spielberg's The Last Days, a documentary on the Hungarian Deportation during the Holocaust.
You can also try projectwitness.org for more Holocaust documentaries.

hulu has "hitler's children." it's not actually about what happened to the jews, it's about how descendants of powerful nazi figures have handled being related to prominent monsters. it's tamer than a lot of films (no shows of actual violence), and I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of the documentary. you do get to hear some details of the nazi mentality that are really scary (details of bringing up a family right outside auschwitz). most of it is in german with english subtitles. there is some strong language in the subtitles. anyway, not sure what I think of it, but some of the details given were new to me.

The Pianist
It is on netflix, or you can rent it through Amazon, I am sure.
It's too late for the fast today but keep in mind for tisha b'av, if needed.
