Oh, its a pain in the neck to cook and then fry. Might as well just fry.

Although I do love home fries. I guess I'll have to try it one day.

The difference between potato latkes and potato chremslach are, that the chremslach are made with cooked potato... mashed, and then you add the egg, oil, salt, pepper. personally, I hate it, it's too dry.

I agree its too dry, but I can't imagine a single Pesach without it. all my pesach memories involve chremslach

I know s/o who does that but didn't know what it was called these cremslach latkes

anyway just thought of vinagrette did anybody say that yet

boil potatoes - do not let get mushy they must be firm
boil peeled and diced beets
add to potatoes and put in green onions (scallions) and dress with salt, pepper, garlic vinager olive oil ... I don't know what you guys eat a pickle ...

you can also make borscht from the juice ... add lemon and sugar and save some pieces for it ... if you like borscht ... anyway ... some people do and it's a very pretty color ... I just make it do not like taste ... son and ex love it!!!
